WHAT IS THE PFCNO?

The Francophone Youth Parliament of Western Provinces and the North (PFCNO) is an interprovincial parliamentary simulation that, for more than 30 years, has brought together every two years French-speaking youth aged 16 to 25 from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon. The event is organized on a rotating basis by the youth councils of these provinces and territories, which also means that the location varies from year to year.

If you’re interested in the power structures and various laws of our country, step into the shoes of a minister, a deputy or a journalist and express your opinion!

No matter your knowledge of politics or parliamentary procedures, the goal is to develop your leadership skills while enjoying an unforgettable experience!

Looking back at the 32nd edition of the PFCNO

From November 7 to 11, 8 young people from British Columbia travelled to Winnipeg for the Francophone Youth Parliament of Western Provinces and the North.

This event, held every two years, brings together French-speaking youth from Western Canada and the territories for 3 days of debates and laughter. Participants debated bills on love, organ donation, and recreation, along with a private member's motion to create a new party! The youth also had the chance to take a guided tour of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, as well as attend an improv show and a concert by the Barn Boys
