The Summit this year
The 2026 edition of the Summit will take place from the 24 to the 26 of April, in Victoria, and will focus on the theme of mental health! Join us for a weekend of sharing, to grow together and have a positive impact on our communities.
Exploration of wellness techniques, sharing resources, discussion circles and the creation of an awareness-raising exposition will all be present to create an event that has something for everyone, whether you are engaging with this topic for the first or the fiftieth time. Sign-ups are from February 5th to 22nd, don’t miss your chance!

WHAT IS THE SUMMIT?
The Summit was born in 2023 out of the need for young people to have a place to discuss social issues.
Taking place over 3 days, the Summit is an event for students in grades 8 to 12 from CSF schools. The event's aim? To offer students an opportunity to discuss and learn more about the issues that affect them.
Each year, the Summit changes theme to reflect the current needs of youth. At the Summit, youth of all identities have the opportunity to learn together, raise awareness, think about their role in their communities and work together to improve our society.
THROWBACK ON THE 2025 EDITION: GENDER EQUALITY
From April 11 to 13, 2025, at École des Pionniers-de-Maillardville, students from across British Columbia had the chance to come together and discuss social issues. For this 3rd edition of theSommet, we explored the theme of gender equality. The event brought together a total of 55 youth ready to learn more and share their opinions on the realities faced by people of diverse gender identities.
- Over the course of three days, participants had the opportunity to take part in:
- a workshop on gender representation and stereotypes in the media, offered by CFQO
- a workshop on pay equity in Canada and in B.C.
- a workshop on gender equality in sports
- a workshop offered by JLRS on how to be an ally
- group activities to bond together
- and an unforgettable social evening: a Silent Disco!
The goal of the summit was to share and learn. Participants left more aware and with a deeper understanding of the history, past achievements, and current challenges related to gender equality — and also full of hope for the future!
A big thank you to Réseau femme de la Colombie-Britannique and the Comité franco-queer de l’Ouest for their workshops. We also want to thank the Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique, Réseau dialogue, the FJCF, and Patrimoine Canadien for making this event possible through their financial support.
