WHAT’S THE LIFC?
The Ligue d'improvisation franco-colombienne is offered by the Conseil jeunesse, in partnership with the CSF, to students of the Conseil scolaire francophone, aged 14 to 18. During an improvisation tournament, teams of students compete in intense, funny and surprising matches. Using their creativity and spontaneity, participants improvise stories, characters and situations based on randomly selected topics.
LIFC objectives
Develop oral expression skills: Improvisation is a powerful tool for improving oral fluency, self-confidence and the ability to adapt quickly to new situations. Encourage teamwork: Improvisation is above all a team effort, in which teammates need to be in sync to create harmonious, entertaining scenes. Reinforcing the spirit of healthy competition: Teams compete in a friendly tournament where each match is a chance to show off your talent, but also to laugh together and share a unique moment.
How does the tournament work?
Team formation: Students form teams of 4 to 8 members. If some participants do not have a team, it is possible to integrate teams to complete. **Before entering the tournament, each team takes part in improvisation workshops led by professionals. These sessions help develop specific techniques: character creation, staging, stress management, etc. The tournament: Over the weekend, teams compete in matches (qualifiers, semi-finals and finals) with a referee who draws lots to determine the topics, then the players improvise short, often humorous scenes in front of an audience.
THROWBACK ON 2024 EDITION
It is with great emotion that we look back on the 2024 edition of LIFC x Crescendo, which thrilled us all weekend long. We laughed, cried, shared beautiful moments together, and created new friendships.
From February 16th to 18th 2024, a total of 63 young people came together to share their talent and their passion for the stage. Whether through dancing, singing, photography, or artistic direction, these participants worked together to offer the audience a unique show.
A huge THANK YOU to all the participants who left a mark on our minds, and who made this a unique and unforgettable event! A special mention to the coaches who accompanied the students in an immersive experience from the beginning of registration to the end of the project, without whom this edition of LIFC x Crescendo would not have been the same.
