WHAT'S CRESCENDO?

Crescendo is a multidisciplinary event dedicated to visual art, performing arts and street art, offered by the Conseil jeunesse, in partnership with the CSF, to students of the Conseil scolaire francophone, aged 14 to 18. It gives young people the opportunity to showcase their talents in fields as varied as music, theater, dance, painting, singing, or even more urban arts such as skateboarding, slam, or graffiti.

The aim is to fully immerse yourself in an extraordinary artistic experience: from the audition process to your final act in front of the public at the show, via personalized coaching sessions.

Crescendo highlights

  • Artistic workshops: Participants will have access to workshops led by professional artists in various disciplines. You'll learn new techniques, experiment with new forms of expression and develop your creativity.
  • Stage performances: At the end of the festival, each participant or group will perform on a large stage, in front of an audience. The performances will be an opportunity to show your progress and share your passion.
  • Exchange and collaboration: One of Crescendo's main objectives is to enable talented young people to collaborate and exchange ideas with each other. You'll be able to form groups, collectives or even improvised duos to create hybrid performances (dance + music, theater + slam, graffiti + musical instrument, etc.).

THROWBACK ON 2025 EDITON!

The 2025 edition of LIFC & Crescendo brought together 52 young talents from all over British Columbia for three intense days of coaching, workshops and artistic creation.

🎶 Crescendo this year was built around a strong theme: Urban Bodies. The show explored how youths appropriate urban spaces to express themselves. Each performance transformed the stage into an artistic playground, where music, dance, theater and visual arts gave new voice to the streets, squares and imaginary walls of this reinvented city.

Backstage streams also played a key role this year. Some participants took part in decor construction, video production and image capture to immortalize the event, while others slipped into the role of MC. The MCs took the audience from one tableau to the next with dynamism and fluidity.

🌟This year, the youths had the unique opportunity to be mentored.e.s by bilingual singer Missy D, who also accompanied them on stage. Her energy, talent and commitment left an inspiring mark on this edition.

The adventure ended on a high note with a performance at the Théâtre de l'Alliance Française in front of an audience of 160 people. A vibrant moment, where each participant was able to express their talent and share their art with the audience.

A huge thank you to all those who helped make this edition a success: young people, trainers, coaches, volunteers and partners.See you in 2026 for a new, even more inspiring adventure
