CJFCB INVITES MEMBERS TO ITS 35th AGM
The Youth Council's 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held this year on Monday, June 24 at 9:15 a.m. in a hybrid format: at Simon Fraser University's Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs (Burnaby), and virtually on Zoom. This gathering will allow CJFCB members to discover the year's achievements, upcoming projects, and to vote in the elections for the Board of Directors.
AN EVENT BY AND FOR YOUNG PEOPLE The AGM is a unique opportunity for CJFCB members, French-speaking youth aged 14 to 25 from British Columbia, to get involved and make an impact in their community. At this annual meeting, the management and members of the Board of Directors present the results of the past year and vote on the program for the coming year. The meeting will also be the occasion for the presentation of the two $500 CJFCB bursaries to two members graduating from secondary school. A notice of convocation was sent to all members at the end of May, inviting them to attend this meeting, which will give them the opportunity not only to make their voices heard, but also to stand for election to the Board of Directors.
THE NEXT BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTIONS A highlight of the AGM, the Board of Directors elections allow members to take part in a democratic process to choose their representatives.Always in the spirit of “by and for”, the young people elected will be members aged 16 to 25, whose mission will be to develop the vision and policies of the CJFCB, and to represent its members at provincial and national levels. This year, three positions are up for election: Treasurer: 2-year term Administrator 14-18 years: 2-year term Administrator 19-25 years: 2-year term Any member who meets the eligibility criteria and would like to get involved in the Youth Council is invited to apply before June 23!
