WELCOME TO THE SCHOOL PAGE

The Conseil jeunesse has been offering after-school activities to French-speaking youth for over 30 years. The main purpose of these activities is to offer enriching and fun experiences in French. A wide range of interests are covered to appeal to as many youths as possible: arts, sports, leadership, environment, outdoors, etc. We work closely with schools for all our initiatives to ensure that our youth can receive the support they need and can develop their knowledge and skills as well as a sense of belonging to the Francophone community.

In addition to our activities, many resources for youth and schools have been developed over the past few years.

WORKSHOPS OFFERED IN SCHOOLS

The Conseil jeunesse offers, every year, a variety of workshops to schools. The workshops are offered during school hours in cooperation with a teacher who wishes to offer that workshop to their class. For the 2021-2022 school year, the offered workshops are the following:

. Atelier Sécurité Linguistique

Our organization also has an extensive network of facilitators who can offer workshops on various topics. If you are looking for a workshop about a specific topic, do not hesitate to contact us to discuss it further.

ACTIVITIES OFFERED TO STUDENTS

Students can participate individually in numerous activities offered by the Conseil jeunesse. These activities can take many forms and may require various levels of engagement on behalf of the students: one-time events, recurring events throughout the year, committees that meet frequently and sometimes a mix of these elements. Each project has its specific features which can be found on the page of each event. The registration periods also vary according to each project.

: In general, the CJFCB activities take place after school hours and on weekends. However, for some larger events such as the BC Francophone Youth Parliament or the BC francophone games, the students may have to leave earlier on Friday, especially when the transportation is longer. Each time, the school administration is notified of the time of departure as well as the list of concerned students.

: For each of our events, we provide promotional material. If you are interested in receiving this material (by mail or an electronic version), please do not hesitate to contact us. Every year, we also make flyers with our annual programming that we would be happy to send you.

: Absolutely! We always aim to find a solution for all students who do not have the financial resources to participate in our activities. In this case, we encourage schools to see if they can cover the entirety or a part of the registration fees. Sometimes, school parent associations or local community organizations can also help. In any case, please contact us so that we can find a solution together.

: On each project’s page, there is a “Registration” button where all the details will be given. Typically, the students must fill out an online registration form, a consent form signed by their parents and pay the associated fees if the event has any. If your students encounter any difficulties with their registration, they can contact the project coordinator of that event or activity.
