WHAT IS LE GRAND VOYAGE?

Le Grand Voyage is an unforgettable experience for Simon Fraser University French Cohort Program students aged 19 and over.

For a weekend, we fly to Winnipeg to experience the Festival du Voyageur, the largest francophone winter festival in Western Canada. During the 4-day stay, participants will have the chance to attend concerts, visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, skate on the Red River and enjoy the general atmosphere of the Festival, with its impressive snow sculptures and traditional food. It's also an opportunity to learn more about the region's Métis and Aboriginal communities and cultures, the history of the Voyageurs and the Franco-Manitoban community. Every year, the B.C. delegation has the chance to meet french-speaking youth from other provinces and territories, whether Saskatchewan, Alberta, the Yukon or Manitoba. It is an opportunity to forge lasting ties with the wider Franco-Canadian community.

The goal: to experience a full weekend of diverse activities to broaden your social, cultural and educational horizons! The Grand Voyage is coordinated by the CJFCB and Simon Fraser University’s Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs (OFFA).
